SLOT ALLOCATIONS & TERMS

Slots are awarded to the top finisher athletes in each age group, both female and male, and, top corporate teams.

To accept a slot, qualified athletes must claim their slot within 7 days after receiving an email with the link to register (no slots are valid or available in any other manner that not the official link received by email). Typically, an email will go out to all qualified athletes as soon as the finals location and date is announced.

SLOT ALLOCATION CRITERIA

Finals slots allocation is under the base guideline of hosting a maximum number, for safety reasons, and event experience. This may change from location to location and year to year, according to the suitable limits of the finals host destination. Direct slot allocation criteria by age-group depends on the total number of series qualifying events and from event to event according to men and women total numbers and percentages.

To ensure fairness and transparency in the process, TRITON uses, as a guideline, the D’Hondt method for the mathematically order.

If  the finals event is not sold out in the first editions, TRITON may, or not, open registration to all athletes that have raced an official qualifying event, and, or, for those that are registered for an upcoming event, that takes place in the same calendar year, but after the finals. This could happen in the first finals taking place in October of 2025.

In a normal situation, all races that take place with less than a month to go for the finals, qualify for the following year’s final event.

Additional qualification opportunities, such as but not limited to an attributed wild card are at the sole discretion of TRITON World Series.

The Slot Allocation Process:

  • Before Race Day

Each Age Group with registered athletes is tentatively allocated one slot each (an “Initially Allocated Slot”).

All other slots available for the race (the “Proportionally Allocated Slots”) are not allocated until race day.

  • On Race Day

If there are no starters in an Age Group, then that Age Group’s Initially Allocated Slot is removed and pooled with the Proportionally Allocated Slot.

The Proportionally Allocated Slots are then distributed among all Age Groups based on the number of starters in each Age Group. This allocation is based on the ratio of athletes in each Age Group across both the male and female categories, ie, the more athletes in an Age Group, the more slot allocations they receive.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Any athlete that gained unauthorised access to a final  registration link that has not race and official TRITON race or does not fall under the terms above, will be removed and will not be allowed to take part. A formal prosecution for fraud may apply through legal proceedings taken by TRITON. The in cause may be banned permanently from racing any TRITON event.
